You’d be amazed how much toddlers can be entertained by a simple walk up and down the block. It’s so easy to forget, but everything is new and amazing to them. You don’t really need a pricey trip to the zoo or a museum to make their dayΒ (though that’s nice sometimes, too). Just exploring the world with you is all they need.
Touch:Β Bring a small bag or bucket, so they can collect and feel “treasures” like rocks, flowers, sticks, and leaves.
See: Point out the different colors and textures of the things you see. “What a spiky grey bush!” “Look at this slug. It’s slimy and brown.”
Hear: Have them listen to the sound of the birds, a car going by, a barking dog, or a plane flying overhead.
Happy adventuring!
