Table of Contents

Table of Contents By Cori Kindred

No, not a table of contents for a book or even this blog.

A table of contents for you and your life.

Last weekend I attended a creative writing workshop by Janie Miller, and that was one of the exercises:

Take five minutes to write a table of contents for your life.

The next time you have a couple of minutes to yourself (morning coffee break, kid’s nap, lunch,  bedtime), try it.

You might be surprised what it reveals, particularly when it comes to the items that come after your current chapter.

I also highly recommend this Smash Magazine article on creative examples of tables of contents. If you’re a writer, artist, or someone who just likes extraordinary takes on ordinary things, definitely check it out.
