Grandparents’ Day

Yesterday was Grandparents’ Day. If you forgot or were too busy enjoying the last hurrah of summer or simply didn’t know, now’s your chance to remedy that.

Stop what you’re doing, call that special someone right now, and say thank you. Never underestimate what an incredible treasure it is to know them and to know their love.

Speaking of which …

I talk a lot about Sue and Shirley and how I’m making it my mission to make them an everyday part of Szaba’s life, even though they’re gone.

But what I haven’t talked about are the amazing grandparents that Szaba does haveever supportive, devoted, and loving—and how very grateful I am for each and every one of them.

So Cathy, Rollie, Chuck, Larry, and Kristin: Happy Grandparents Day! Szaba doesn’t just make you happy (although I see that sparkle in your eye when you gaze at her). You make her happy, and for that I could never thank you enough.

  1. Thank you for your touching tribute. The moments I share with Szaba, as well as Avianna and Lienna, are little miracles that allow me brief chances to relive the joys I felt when God blessed me with the amazing gift of motherhood. Being a grandma is a glimpse of heaven.
