Countdown

It’s the holiday equivalent to the car chorus, “Are we there yet?”

Is it [insert special occasion] yet?

Let’s face it. Kids have a different sense of time than us, and understandably so. Think about how long one month is as a percentage of their entire existence, compared to ours as adults. Now perhaps you can see why it seems to stretch before them like infinity?

Making Unicorns

Once upon a time, there was a little girl who was obsessed with unicorns. She wanted to wear unicorn clothes. She wanted to color unicorn pictures. She wanted to make up unicorn stories. She want to play unicorn games.

She wanted to BE a unicorn.

And through the magic of some leftover craft supplies and a parent’s obliging heart, she became one.

Tinted Mason Jars (in Bulk)

Here’s an idea if you need to decorate on a budget or are thinking ahead to DIY holiday gifts.

I recently made a bunch of tinted mason jars in bulk for a friend’s wedding, and I was pleasantly surprised by how they turned out. We filled them with candles and used them in the table centerpieces, on walkways, on buffet tables, etc.

Parents with young kids know: There will be stir-crazy days. And on those days, your child’s least favorite thing to play with will be all of their toys.

That’s exactly what led to this DIY dollhouse.
